Understand that you need to asses your Skin at regular intervals, reason being your skin in 20's is likely to be different from the 30's or 40's skin. As you grow old the level of oil production reduces and your skin begins to dry. You might have had oily skin in your 20's, but this doesn’t mean that you’ll have oily skin in your 30's or 40's, lifestyle changes and hormonal changes does effect the skin as well and hence the skin regime and products that worked wonders once, all of a sudden does not seem effective.

Skin Care

Normal Skin is unblemished, velvety, smooth and supple with no enlarged pores or flaky dead cells. There may be occasional pimples just before menstruation when hormonal activity causes the sebaceous glands to be overactive, but acne is certainly not a problem for people with normal skin. In the morning cleanse your skin with plain water, mild face-cleanser and thereafter apply some rose-water (you can use a spray bottle). In the evening make sure you remove all the make-up with cleansing cream and apply mild skin tonic.

Always use a moisturizer in the day under your makeup.

Dry Skin is flaky and dull looking, especially on the cheeks and around the eyes. Even in the teens fine lines may appear on the cheeks, under the eyes and at the corners of the mouth. Dry skin has a tendency for broken veins, flakiness, dry patches, reddened and sore skin in cold weather. Of course, it does need a lot of care!!

Yogurt Mask work magic on dry skin. Yogurt contains lactic acid, an alpha hydroxy acid, that dissolves dead skin cells. Yogurt acts as an exfoliator and helps to create a natural glow and prevent breakouts, besides brightens the skin tone and helps diminish the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

There is not enough lubrication to the skin and it has a tendency to appear dehydrated which makes it important to use some hydrating cream or gel that retains the skin moisture.

Cleanse with a cream, followed by application of rose water to remove traces of oil. Try washing with with raw milk. Use a rich nourishing cream. Lastly never go out without a moisturizer at night.

Greasy Skin is shiny, thick and dull dull colored. Since the sebaceous glands produce more oil than needed, thus making the face greasy and which in turn leads to enlarged pores. It is prone to blackheads and acne.

Wash the face in the morning, at mid-day and in the night before going to sleep, with face-wash and plain water (tap water). Use mild tonic or rose water works fine too! You may use a non-greasy moisturizer
Mix 1 tablespoon potato juice in 1 tablespoon Fuller's Earth (Multani Mitti) make a smooth paste (add some water or rose water if required) Potato contain Vitamin C and clean the skin blemishes besides fuller's earth absorbs excess grease and dirt from the dirt leaving it smooth and clean

Combination Skin, requires special care since skin has two individual skins-dry cheeks and greasy center panel. Cleanse the center panel with an astringent and the cheeks should be treated you would treat dry skin.

Sensitive Skin, requires utmost care considering it becomes inflamed and irritated easily and is prone to sunburns and rashes. Use fragrant free products or acid and detergent free products. Some people prefer baby cream and lotion considering the baby skin equally sensitive and these products are gentle and enough to nourish the skin without any allergic reactions. You may use aloe vera face wash or use natural aloe vera gel and mix some honey to soothe your skin.

Use a daily moisturizer that has an SPF of 15 or higher, a, sunscreen that is hypoallergenic and free of fragrances.

If you have a rash that won’t go away, skin irritation that causes you discomfort that interferes with daily activities or is getting worse over time, please without delay see your doctor.

TIPS

1. Avoid exfoliating with harsh scrubs and do not scrub your skin harshly

2. Avoid rough washcloths or towel

3. Avoid rubbing your skin dry with a towel and try to pat dry instead, it keeps your skin naturally moisturized

4. Use moisturizer while your skin is damp, it helps trap the moisture in the skin

5. Avoid salt intake

6. Use Sulphate free cleansers

Ultimate goal of Skin Care Regime is Acne Free, No More Fine Lines and Pigmentation which results in Happy and Glowing Skin and this is possible only if you start early with your daily skin care and maintaining healthy diet. Remember every skin is different and what works for one might not work for the other.
